My background is in exercise physiology and skeletal muscle biology.
I got my bachelors from UFMG and spent the last 2 years as an intern at the laboratory of exercise physiology, where we studied thermoregulation and fatigue
From 2010 to 2013 I was in Jyväskylä (Finland) researching muscle hypertrophy and Duchenne muscular dystrophy for my masters. The journey continued into Sweden for my PhD, still on the theme of muscular dystrophy.
My first post-doc was in Odense (Denmark), working with obesity and genetics. I'm almost done with my second one in Kuopio (Finland).
Despite moving into software development, I'm grateful for my academic career as it took me to many nice places where I learned (and grew) a lot, meeting wonderful people along the way. I was also able to make use of my coding ability sometimes, mostly in the form of data analysis and bioinformatics.
